New look QMS NZ a game-changer

QMS Media Limted (QMS) today announced that the business has completed the successful integration of QMS NZ with the recently acquired iSite Media. The newly merged entity will relaunch as QMS NZ and will be led by CEO, Wayne Chapman. LAUNCHING: The Christchurch Gateway

iSite Media has launched the latest digital spectacular site in the AURA collection, The Christchurch Gateway. At 50sqm, it is the largest digital site in Christchurch featuring the same high-quality LED screens as its sister sites; The Victoria, City Gateway and Riccarton. With perfect site lines, the Christchurch Gateway towers over Victoria Street, a key corridor into the CBD from the airport and northern suburbs. Situated just before the iconic clock tower and surrounded by new built commercial offices, the area has a rich variety of bars, restaurants, pop up cafes and a casino. Paddle for Hope 2016

On Saturday 13th of February iSite Media and some of our amazing media agency friends (OMD, SparkPHD, IKON, MediaCom, Y&R & FCB) took part in the annual Starboard Paddle for Hope event at Okahu bay in Auckland. Paddle for Hope is a fun stand up paddle board fundraiser created by cancer survivor Karin Horen in support of Pinc & Steel cancer rehabilitation - helping cancer survivors thrive. It was a perfect day in the sun and on the water as our teams raced around a 700m course all dressed in pink, had a go at Yoga boarding, watched celebrity sprint races and overall enjoyed the celebration of everything pink. Combined our teams raised almost $12,000 for Pinc & Steel - ultimately helping over 40 New Zealanders diagnosed with cancer recover faster. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, fundraised and participated in the event - we really appreciate all your support.

AURA doubles digital billboard audience

Digital billboards have reached a tipping point in becoming a standalone medium as iSite Media continues investment in its Aura digital billboard brand releasing five new sites, including expansion into Christchurch. This release more than doubles the existing collection with a combined reach of 330,000 people over a two week period. "The City Gateway" on Fanshawe Street will join The Victoria as the second AURA digital spectacular in central Auckland. This large format site (5.5m x 11m) stands five stories high and is situated on one of the busiest roads into the CBD with a reach of 150,000 people over two weeks. The site is available to book now as part of a launch partner program and will go live in January.  'Riccarton' is set to be a stand out spectacular digital billboard in Christchurch live in February. Situated on Riccarton Road, a major arterial into the city centre, the 4m x 8m site will reach over 60,000 people in two weeks. The Audience Collection will also continue to expand with the addition of two further strategically located sites in Auckland and one in Christchurch. LIVE: NZ's largest digital billboard

The largest digital billboard in New Zealand, The Victoria, has been switched on by iSite Media. NZ's first spectacular Auckland CBD billboard forms a key part of iSite's Aura branded digital collection, aimed at targeting high profile locations and building a network of sites that will deliver coverage across NZ. The screen is 15 stories high on the corner of Victoria and Hobson Street. At 8m wide, 16m high it is visible from over 1km across the heart of the city. The Victoria has generated unprecedented advertiser demand, partners at launch are: Adidas, Air NZ, Coca-Cola, Holden, SKY TV and Spark. iSite Media is investing millions of dollars into digital screens across New Zealand; CEO Wayne Chapman says "The Victoria represents the ambition  of iSite Media to deliver world-class digital outdoor advertising to New Zealand. New standardised billboard currency - DTV

OMANZ has announced a new standardised billboard currency - Daily Traffic Visuals (DTV) OMANZ, the association representing members comprising of more than 80% of the NZ OOH Industry has announced important changes to the way billboard audiences are measured. Adam McGregor, GM of OMANZ explains; "Our members have moved to address a stated impediment to OOH revenue growth - namely agency frustration at inconsistency between companies in the time period in which audiences were expressed and in some cases lack of confidence in the numbers themselves." To address this need, from the 1st of August all member billboard operators (APNO, iSite Media, Media5) will adopt a single currency - Daily Traffic Visuals (DTV). The new system delivers significant advances in three ways: Firstly and importantly, the base traffic counts are not supplied by the media operators. Leading independent geo-spatial experts, Critchlow have derived the latest and most accurate traffic counts on relevant road sections for each billboard ensuring the integrity of the base data. Secondly, Critchlow in conjunction with iSite Media has developed a series of rules which, when applied universally refine the audience outputs. For the first time agencies can have confidence in a consistent, independently verified methodology for applying variables such as billboard orientations, traffic flow and effective viewing distance. Thirdly, DTV numbers will be accompanied by a Critchlow trust mark assuring their authenticity. Member operators have agreed to publish DTV numbers on their site cards and proposals in the public domain. To further guarantee transparency outputs will also be available on the OMANZ website for reference. OMANZ chairman, Wayne Chapman commented, "The introduction of the DTV currency is a modest but nonetheless significant step in the continuing maturity of the OOH industry. Members have demonstrated an ability to work collaboratively towards an outcome that will deliver our customers a superior product and give them the confidence to further invest in the growth of our medium."

Stand out performance for NZ Outdoor Media in 2013

The ASA figures released on 19th March show Outdoor media investment now stands at 3.3% of all media spend following growth in annual revenue of 13.4% year-on-year over 2012.   OMANZ GM, Adam McGregor said, "This is a stand out performance, with only Interactive and Cinema showing such healthy double-digit growth. This performance is in-line with the growth in OMANZ member revenue for 2013, released in January this year. It's clear that Outdoor is benefiting from the re-direction of advertising dollars away from TV and Newspapers, as well as continued meteoric rise of Interactive.   According to Nielsen data the most notable categories of increased investment are Investment/Finance +60%, Household Furnishings +60%, Telecoms +70%, Business Services +100%, Accessories +104%, Pharmaceuticals +128% and Industrial +217%. This is all very encouraging, as is the 5.1% increase in all media revenue".   OMANZ Chair, Wayne Chapman said, "This is a terrific result for our members and a further ringing endorsement for the value and relevance of OOH in NZ. Our sector has shown a commitment to investment and innovation, and it is this continuing focus that underpins our confidence in a sustainable future growth trajectory. Our 'Highly Targeted Outdoor' campaign won the prestigious Supreme Nexus Award at the NZDM Awards gala event 2013. We had an unbelievable night, walking away with a staggering six awards! The launch of highly targeted outdoor media

On Thursday 15th of August iSite Media announced a new suite of products that will deliver highly targeted outdoor media solutions. A launch event held at The Cloud, Queens Wharf in front of several hundred key agency and media clients provided insight into the scope of the new services.  We have worked alongside third party geo-spatial experts and data analysts to analyse hundreds of thousands of road journeys, map over 22,000 bus routes and build a proprietary business location database. This analysis has been cross referenced with census and purchasing data to create a highly targeted approach to the use of outdoor advertising in NZ.  "Bus advertising is uniquely flexible so it is perfectly positioned to deliver these targeted campaigns. A strong start to 2013 for Outdoor Advertising

The Outdoor Media Association of NZ (OMANZ) recently announced a strong start to 2013 with Q1 revenue numbers reported. Gross Media Revenue for the Industry increased to $15.4 million, compared to results of $13.3million for the same period in 2012, a 16% increase. Jo Davenport, Marketing and Communications Manager of OMANZ said: "This is a great start to the year for the Outdoor sector, especially coming off the back off a slower 2012. Key macro and media indicators point to a more positive year for Out of Home advertising and continued growth" "No matter how you look at it, OOH is firmly entrenched in the media mix for the future. The closer an advertising message is to people as they live their everyday lives the more meangingful it becomes in terms of connecting with that audience. That means as other media audiences fragment OOH retains its relevance.
